Description

Manciano from the beautiful sign, den of thieves and spy of the Maremma! Manciano is the capital of the municipality and is located in an excellent position for discovering the surrounding area. The town is substantially divided in two: in the more modern part you will find all the services and the possibility of shopping, while the historic center is characterized by many characteristic views and a walk in Via Marsala which connects the two parts of the town is pleasant. Visiting the Cassero, or the Rocca Aldobrandesca, now the seat of the municipality, and climbing the watchtower offers a unique panorama over the entire Tuscan-Lazio Maremma. The view extends 360° from the Argentario promontory, to Monte Amiata, to Lake Bolsena and on days with favorable weather conditions it is also possible to glimpse Terminillo and Gran Sasso. It is no coincidence that Manciano is considered the most beautiful panoramic terrace in the Maremma from which you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets. An attraction not to be missed is the Valle del Fiora Museum of Prehistory and Protohistory, located in Via Corsini, next to the Town Hall. This small museum is surprisingly made with extreme care and takes visitors on a journey through time to discover the area from the first finds dating back to the Paleolithic to the present day. Manciano has also become a popular destination for tasting the typical Maremma cuisine, all the restaurants cook recipes handed down secretly for generations and use only local products that make dishes such as the traditional ciaffagnone or stewed game a culinary experience not to be missed.
